(It didn't feel like they were a step up from Derry, but Eddie hadn't met too many people yet. For all they knew this place was full of the same assholes Derry was full of. They did have each other, and that was something, but Eddie still felt a crippling sense of dread that didn't seem to want to go away anytime soon.
He's quiet for far too long. Something he sometimes had done with Richie when they were just kids. Call him up and not even speak for fear of his mom finding out he was on the phone, but just wanting to listen to Richie breathe, exist- anything. Old habits died hard, sometimes.
Eventually, Eddie seems to remember himself though.)
